Chairman of the Catholic Education Commission promotes role of teachers in traffic safety education

Chairman of the Catholic Education Commission under the Catholic Conference Bishop’s of Vietnam, Bishop Joseph Đinh Đức Đạo sent a congratulatory letter to teachers on Vietnam Teacher’s Day (November 20).

In the letter, Bishop highlighted the role of teachers in educating young people, especially in traffic safety education. "Credibility and love of young people is considered as an honor and valuable opportunity for teachers performance the responsibility to educate the conscience for future generations ", Bishop Joseph Đinh Đức Đạo wrote.

According to the Bishop, traffic safety is a serious problem in the world and Vietnam, and many people died of traffic accidents daily. Therefore, on May 10, 2010, the UN General Assembly proclaimed the period 2011–2020 as the Decade of Action for Road Safety. Many countries, including Vietnam have launched specific programs to enhance and ensure traffic safety.
