An exchange group of Caodai churches and organizations jointly held a solemn ceremony to celebrate the 90th founding anniversary of Caodaism at Chau Minh Holy See in Chau Thanh district of Ben Tre province on March 28.
Attending the ceremony were a large number of dignitaries, deacons and followers from Caodai churches, organizations of the group in localities.
Distinguished guests at the ceremony included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Tấn Hùng, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Võ Thành Hạo and representatives from local authorities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Cardinal Thượng Bảy Thanh, Member of the exchange group’s Standing Committee briefed about the history and development of the Caodaism in the past 90 years.
During the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Tấn Hùng took the chance to praise the Caodaism for its practical contributions to social charities and development over the past years.
Caodaism was founded in Vietnam in 1926 and currently has 2.5 million followers mainly concentrating in the Southern provinces and cities with over 10,000 dignitaries, 30,000 deacons, and over 1,200 worshipping places.
