Caodai Tay Ninh Church held a solemn ceremony to celebrate 90th anniversary of Caodai religion on December 5 in Hoa Thanh district, Tay Ninh province.
Attending the anniversary meeting were dignitaries from the Church, members of the Caodai Representative Committee, Management Committee, deacons and followers.
Officials to the ceremony included Mr. Lê Minh Trọng, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee, Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Thu Thủy, Chairman of Tay Ninh provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyễn Đắc Tuấn, Director of Caodai Affairs under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, and other representatives from local authorities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Cardinal Thượng Tám Thanh, Chief of the Church’s Executive Council briefed about the ninety-year history of Caodai religion and shared the Church’s achievements in 90 year development process. According to Cardinal Thượng Tám Thanh, currently Caodai religion is one of major religions in Vietnam, especially in the South, with about 2.5 million followers, 30,000 workers, 10,000 dignitaries and over 1,200 worshipping establishments.
