Buddhist monks & nuns in Nam Dinh join frontline force against Covid-19 in Long An

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in Nam Dinh province held on August 16 a send-off ceremony for voluntary Buddhist monastics start joining frontline forces against Covid-19 in Long An province.

The event taking place at the provincial VBS office based in Thien Truong Zen Buddhist Monastery located in Nam Dinh city saw the presence of Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee Phạm Gia Túc, Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Đoàn Văn Hùng, and Senior Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Quảng Hà.

As reported, 10 volunteer Buddhist monks and nuns in Nam Dinh will travel to support COVID-19 treatment in Long An province. All these Buddhist volunteers have undergone a training course and have been vaccinated against Covid-19, as well as received negative results of Covid-19 tests.

During the event, Secretary Phạm Gia Túc presented flowers and gift sets to the voluntary monks and nuns.

As informed by Senior Venerable Thích Quảng Hà at the event, the provincial VBS has donated over 100 million VND to the vaccine fund of Nam Dinh province and tens of tons of daily necessities to the pandemic prevention work.
