On August 21, Tu Quang Monastery in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province’s Tan Thanh district held a charitable program for victims of Agent Orange, the disabled, the elderly and poor children in the locality.

During the program, the Monastery handed over 35 gift sets (each set containing rice, noodle, soy sauce, sugar, cooking oil) to poor people, 40 boxes of notebooks and school supplies to poor students with outstanding achievements, seven bicycles for students with special difficulties, and five wheelchairs and five modified bicycles for the disabled. The charitable program is worth nearly VND 60 million raised by Venerable Abbott of Tu Quang Monastery Thích Đạt Ma Ngộ Trân from Yoga clubs in Ho Chi Minh City and Buddhists.

The event was held on occasion of 55 years of Agent Orange in Vietnam (1961-2016) with the collaboration of the district’s Association of Victims of Agent Orange and Sponsoring Center.
