On June 16, the Religious Affairs Board under the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee (VFF) in collaboration with United Nations Children's Fund conducted a survey and interviews to assess “Buddhist Leadership Initiative” on prevention of HIV/AIDS.
The event aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and the spreading of this initiative in the communities, especially amongst Buddhist monks, nuns and followers, as well as draw good lessons from experiences for further improvement. It’s reported that from results of pilot programs, the Central VFF Committee’s Standing Board and the VBS Executive Council had sent documented guidelines for expanding good models across the country.
