Buddhist Institute in Hue opens new school year

The Buddhist Institute in Hue under the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) held on September 17 the opening ceremony of the new academy year 2018 – 2019.

The event saw the participation of Most Venerable Deputy Secretary of the VBS Discernment Council Thích Giác Quang, Most Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee Thích Đức Thanh, and over 500 monks, nuns studying at the Institute.

According to an institute’s report, the training school has three courses this year with 510 students.

In 2018, the Buddhist Institute will launch a master degree program and expand cooperation with Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (Thailand) and Pantangwintaung university (Myanmar) and other countries in Southeast Asia region.

Presenting scholarships to nuns with high academy results

On the occasion, the management council of the Institute presented scholarships to monks and nuns with high academic results.
