Quan Su Buddhist club held a Buddhist exchange for Buddhist women on March 5 at the headquarters of the central Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee on occasion of Internation Women’s Day (March 8).
Attending the event included Most Venerable Vice Chairman of the VBS Central Committee for Buddhist Guidance Thích Thanh Hưng, Superior Nun Vice Chairman of the Central Sub-committee for Nun Affairs Thích Đàm Nghiêm, and large numbers of representatives from Buddhist clubs and ashrams in the locality.
During the exchange, Buddhist women Diệu Nhân, member of the central VBS Committee highlighted the role of women in the family and society in her opening speech, and Most Venerable Thích Thanh Hưng stressed important contributions of Buddhist women and their roles as daughters of the Lord Buddha.
Concluding the event, also held on occasion of Trung sisters uprising’s day, Most Venerble Thích Thanh Hưng, Buddhist dignitaries and followers gave their signatures responding to the movement “I love my country”.
