Senior Venerable Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Tien Giang province Thích Quảng Lộc paid a visit on May 21 to Buddhist monks and nuns living in Covid-19 quarantine camp based in the military school in the locality.
Welcoming the Buddhist dignitary were Deputy Commander of the provincial Military Command Nguyễn Văn Bé Bảy and Principal of the local military school Nguyễn Văn Hải.
As reported, the quarantine camp run by the military school on May 20 received 170 Vietnamese people repatriated from India, including 70 Buddhist monks and nuns studying in the South Asia country.
During the visit, Senior Venerable Thích Quảng Lộc extended greetings to officers, soldiers and staffs in the quarantine camp and encouraged overseas monks, nuns to actively observe regulations of the school during the quarantine time. The senior venerable also informed that the provincial VBS’s executive committee would send people to support the school kitchen in cooking vegetarian cuisines.
Representative monks and nuns returning from India took the chance to thank to the provincial military command, the military school and the provincial VBS’s executive committee for attention and supports during their stay in the quarantine camp.
