On October 21, the Dignitaries Council of Cham Brahmin people in Binh Thuan province held its 2nd congress in the province’s Bac Binh district.
Attending the congress included large numbers of Brahmin dignitaries, deacons and followers in the locality. Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trần Tấn Hùng and representatives of local authorities joint with the participating Brahmin people at the opening ceremony of the event.
During the congress, the participating delegates discussed reports on the Dignitaries Council’s activities in the first tenure (2012-2016), as well as approved the working program for the 2016-2021 period and the regulation on the organization and operation of the Council for the new term.
The congress selected 19 members to the new-term Brahmin Dignitaries Council for the 2nd tenure (2016 – 2021) with Imưm Thường Xuân Hữu in Tuy Phong district reappointed as Chairman of the Council.
