On October 10, 2013, a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the Vo Xu church under the General Confederation of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (Southern) was held at Ward 8, Vo Xu town, Duc Linh district, the central province of Binh Thuan.

Attending the ceremony were  representatives of all-level authorities in Duc Linh district and Vo Xu town, pastor Ngo Van Buu - Second Vice Chairman and former Administrator of the Vo Xu chapter 50 years ago, pastor Bui Phung - member of the General Confederation and believers in the province.

Protestantism was introduced in Vo Xu in 1960 – 1961, and at the same time the Vo Xu chapter was established. At first, the church was made of bamboo, and then with the guidance of Evangelist Ngo Van Buu (now pastor Ngo Van Buu), it was rebuilt with brick walls and tile roof and an offering ceremony was held in 1964. However, the church was damanged by time. In 2007, after attending a supplementary theological class and being appointed as the Administrator of the Vo Xu chapter, Licensed Minister Le Van Tam built a chapel as a place of worshiping God so far. Realizing the essential needs of the chapter, the local authorities allocated a 3,001 sq.m land area for it to build its church.

Deacon Nguyen Du –Secretary of the Vo Xu chapter and head of the Construction Board served as a master of ceremony. Pastor Le Khac Hoa - head of the Provincial Representative Board prayed. Pastor Ngo Van Buu used the Bible in the Book of Ezra 6:1-5 to share the topic: "Rebuild the Church." Pastor Bui Phung practiced the stone placing ritual to kick off the construction of the church.
