In August 14, 2014 Binh Thuan province’s Protestant Representatives Board under the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (Southern) organized a thanksgiving ceremony to debut the Protestant Phan Son congregation in Bon Thop village, Phan Son commune, Bac Binh District, Binh Thuan province.
Attending the ceremony were representatives from local authorities, Pastor Tran Cong Chanh - Member of the General Confederation of Evangelical Churches, dignitaries, deacons and more than 100 followers in the locality. The program included singing of hymns, prayer, preaching, and historical review of the congregation.
The congregation has been started with several Protestant families moving to Phan Son commune since 2001. As the numbers of Protestants have increased and the closest church is 40-50km away, the Evangelical Church has submitted an application to the local authority for registration of religious activities of the Protestant Phan Son congregation at Phan Son commune./.
