Ben Tre provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee started the summer retreat course 2016 - B.E. 2560 at a solemn ceremony held on May 23 at Bach Van Pagoda in Ben Tre city.
Attending the ceremony were Most Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee Thích Nhựt Tấn, monks, nuns, heads of pagodas in the locality.
Local guests at the event included representatives from the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Commission for Mass Mobilization.
The summer retreat course 2016 in the province will take place from May 23 to August 14 at Bach Van Pagoda. This annually course is an important opportunity for Buddhist monks and nuns to together study Buddhist tripitaka, as well as the Buddhist Church’s Charter and state laws on religious activities.
