On Octocber 10, the Bani Islamic Dignitaries Council in Binh Thuan province held its 2nd congress for 2016 -2021 tenure in Bac Binh district People’s Committee’s conference hall.
The event attracts nearly delegates representing more than 20 thousands Bani Isalamic dignitaries and followers in the province.
Distinguished guests at the congress included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Afairs (GCRA) Trần Tấn Hùng and representatives of Binh Thuan provincial Committee for Religious Affairs.
During the congress, participating delegates discussed the report reviewing the Council’s activities in 2012 – 2016 term and proposed tasks for 2016 -2021 tenure, as well as gave comments to the draft regulation on the organization and operation of the Council.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the GCRA Trần Tấn Hùng praised the Bani Islamic Dignitaries Council for its role and recent achievements.
The Vice Chairman also urged all members of the Council to promote unity in Bani Islamic community and called on Bani Islamic dignitaries to further encourage believers to actively participate in the patriotic emulation movements and contribute to the socio-economic development in the locality.
The congress selected 23 members to the new-term Bani Islamic Dignitaries Council with Imam Văn Lương Đô as the Council President.
