Baha’i community in Hanoi celebrates 200th birthday of Baha'u'llah

The Baha’i community  in Hanoi Capital held on October 22 a solemn ceremony to celebrate the 200th Birthday Anniversary of Baha'u'llah (1817-2017), the founder of the Baha’i faith.

Representatives from central agencies, Hanoi city authorities, several other religious organizations and a large number of Baha’i followers in Vietnam and foreign countries attended the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Representative of the Baha’i community  in Hanoi cum Member of the  Spiritual Council of the Baha’i community  in Vietnam Nguyễn Thị Mai Anh stressed the meaning and activities to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Bahá'u'lláh. 247 countries and territories around the world have been called on to jointly celebrate the anniversary of Baha'u'llah by the International Court of Justice of Baha'i International Community, she said.

The Baha’i Faith was introduced in Vietnam in 1954 by an Indian female follower. The Baha’i community was officially recognized as a religious organization in Vietnam in July 2008 and current has nearly 7,000 followers in 45 cities and provinces nationwide.
