The archaeological research center under the Southern Institute of Social Sciences has explored many archaeological ruins of a 1000 year-old temple at Ben Dinh historical-cultural relic site located in Tay Ninh province’s Ben Cau district.
These archaeological ruins were discovered at the excavation for investigating the core area of the Ben Dinh relic site carrying out from October 10 to December 8 in 2019.
At the excavation, archaeological team of the archaeological research center has dug six excavation pits on an area of 300 square meters and explored many substructures and relics of the ancient temple, including vestiges of a long house and large numbers of ceramic pieces and burning coals with patterns carved intricately.
According to a member of the archaeological team, these archaeological remnants approximately date around from 8th and 9th centuries, belonging to the later Oc Heo era which has existed for over one thousand years.
