The Ante-Creation Caodai Church successfully held on October 30 its 6th national congress for the 2015-2020 tenure at Chau Minh Holy See located in Ben Tre province.
The event drew 425 delegates from over 118 parishes of the Caodai Church in provinces and cities across the country.
State guests at the event included Vice Chairwoman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trần Thị Minh Nga, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Hồ Thị Hoàng Yến, and representatives from other Caodai sects and religions and local authorities.
It’s reported that, for the last tenure (2015-2020), the Ante-Creation Church has recorded many good results in religious affairs, including the organization of doctrinal classes for about over 4,000 participants, a grand ceremony for its 90th founding anniversary, inauguration of Chau Minh Holy See, and construction and upgrading of oratories with the total cost of over 58 billion VND.
The Church currently operates 24 traditional clinics, five charitable kitchens providing rice, porridge and water in hospitals. Over the past five years, the Church spent over 69 billion VND on social and charitable programs for supporting the disadvantaged in localities, providing coffins to the poor, presenting scholarships to poor pupils, building rural bridges, etc.
The 6th Humanity Congress also elected six members of the Upper Council and 15 members for the new-term Standing Committee with Archbishop Thái Bé Thanh selected as Chairman of the Church’s Standing Committee.
Addressing at the congress, Vice Chairwoman Trần Thị Minh Nga spoke highly of the Caodai Church’s achievements over the past years. She also expressed hope for continuous promotion of the Church’s fine tradition, contributing to the socio-economic development in the country.
On the occasion, the GCRA and provincial authorities of Ben Tre presented certificates of recommendation to Caodai groups and individuals for their practical contributions in patriotic movements over the past five years.
