The annual meeting of Catholic Seminaries in Vietnam took place from July 3-8 at K’Long training center located in Da Lat city.
The event was presided over by Bishop of Da Lat Diocese cum Chairman of the Vietnamese Bishops’ Commission for Priests and Postulants Anthony Vũ Huy Chương, and attended by Bishop Vice Chairman of the Bishops’ Commission for Priests and Postulants Joseph Đỗ Mạnh Hùng and over 40 priests in charge of priesthood training and education from seminaries across the country.
During the meeting, participating priests studied the Ratio 2016 – the Vatican’s document related to the education and training for priests, which was issued by the Congregation for the Clergy under the Catholic Church, including new points of training process, qualities and implementation of priesthood mission.
The meeting also exchanged experiences on priesthood training and education of Catholic seminaries, as well as discussed basic contents of the Vietnamese Ratio 2012 (drafted based on the apostolic exhortation of the Pastores Dabo Vobis) with the aim to further promote the education and training for Catholic priests in Vietnam.
The meeting of the Vietnamese Bishops’ Commission for Priests and Postulants is held every two years. The precious meeting was also organized in Da Lat Diocese in 2015 from June 30 to July 4 with the participation of nearly 50 priests from 10 seminaries in Vietnam.
