A newly issued regulation on coordinated management, protection and promotion of Oc Eo Culture Relic Site approved by the provincial People’s Committee of An Giang bans unauthorized digging and finding of artifacts at the site.
This regulation applies to all concerning parties tasked with the management, preservation and promotion of values of the relic site in the Vietnam Southern province of An Giang.
The regulation also bans publication and dissemination with inaccurate information about the relic site, changes to any aspect of the site’s original structure and architecture, unauthorized transfer of any artifacts in or out of the site, and all other activities that might damage the site or adversely affect its values.
The regulation issuance aimed to better protect Oc Eo relic sites in An Giang in the context of negatively affecting factors involved humans and the natural environment, as well as preserve original elements of the relic site.
