700 priests attend priesthood training in Thai Binh

Nearly 700 priests from 10 dioceses under Hanoi Archdiocese attended a priesthood training held at Thai Binh Diocese’ Cathedral on May 9 to 12. 

The opening ceremony of the training event was presided over by Cardinal Archbishop of Hanoi Archdiocese Peter Nguyễn Văn Nhơn and atended by priests from dioceses of  Bac Ninh, Bui Chu, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hung Hoa, Lang Son, Phat Diem, Thanh Hoa, Vinh and Thai Binh.

Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli, non-resident Special Envoy of the Vatican to Vietnam also joint the training event.

The religious training covered contents on theological and discipline in the spiritual life of priests and pastoral affairs for the mariage and family life, including the sacrament of matrimony and some regulations related to wedding procedures in the archdiocese.

The priesthood training of the Hanoi Archdiocese is held once every three years. This year, the training for about 1300 priests in the Archdiocese takes place in Thai Binh diocese from May 8 to 11 and Thanh Hoa diocese from May 16 to 18.
