Thua Thien Hue province: Overview of Thien Lam pagoda in Hue city

Thien Lam pagoda located on Quang Te hill in Hue city’s Thuy Xuan ward. It is one of the few pagodas under the Theravada Buddhism in Hue city, and was established in 1960s by Most Venerable Hộ Nhẫn. Venerable Hộ Tịnh currently is Abbot of Thien Lam pagoda.

Tourists will see the statue of Buddha holding alms bowl, approximately 8 meters high in the entrance of the pagoda

Following model of pagoda in Myanmar, Buddhist Stupa includes two parts: main hall in downstairs and enshrined relics of the Buddha Sakyamuni and Arhats in upstairs.

Inside the main hall is a meditating statue of Buddha Shakyamuni with 1,6 meters high, sitting on the two-meter platform.

In front of pagoda on the left set the 5,3 meter-high statue of Buddha sitting in meditation, facing the East.
