The “Bun Voc Nam” (Water-splashing) Festival, an unique New Year celebration of the Lao people in the northern province of Lai Chau, was held on March 11 at Na Van hamlet, Na Tam commune, Tam Duong district. The traditional festival was annually held after a crop harvest to pray for good weather and bumper crop. The Water Festival was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2017.
