Ten beautiful churches in Nam Dinh province

Nam Dinh province has many beautiful churches imbued with Gothic architecture.

1. Bui Chu Cathedral

Bui Chu Cathedral with 78m length, 22m wide and 15m high, located in Xuan Ngoc commune, Xuan Truong district was built in 1885. With a history of over 100 years, this Church still keep its majestic, superficial looking.

2. Phu Nhai Basilica

Phu Nhai Basilica has been rebuilt 5 times, the first time in 18th century and the last in 1933. Currently, this work has the length of 80m with 27m wide, 30m high, and its two towers were 44m in height.

3. Kien Lao Church

Kien Lao church is located in Xuan Tien commune, Xuan Truong district with 75m long, 26m wide, 28m high, and its steeple has the length of 46m. This Church also has lakes and street lights.

4. Trung Linh Church

Trung Linh church, located in Xuan Ngoc commune of Xuan Truong district was built in 1928. It has a magnificent overview and is a favorite place of couples to take wedding photos.

5. Thanh Danh church

Thanh Danh church is located in Xuan Ngoc commune of Xuan Truong district and has many appliqué paintings about Bible stories.

6. Nam Dinh Cathedral

Nam Dinh Cathedral in the centre of Nam Dinh city has a simple design but still displays a solemn contemplation.

7. Hung Nghia church

Guests will be astonished by the sight of a magnificent castle of Hung Nghia church with fine and detailed decorations. This church in Hai Hung commune of Hai Hau district was built in 1927 and its renovation was just completed.

8.  Xuong Dien church

Xuong Dien church in Giao Thuy coast, Hai Hau district was built with tile roofs and wood frames. A combination of European-Asian style creates a familiar looking.

9. Phu An church

Phu An church of Bui Chu diocese has a distinctive architecture. Through the ups and downs of history, the church degraded seriously and was rebuilt in 2007.

10. Hai Ly ruined Church

Despite its ruin, the church in Hai Ly coastal commune still has one of favorite destinations for tourists.
