Phu Vang temple, also known as Phu Vang Linh tu, is located in Chua mountain in Hoang Xuan commune’s Vang village of Thanh Hoa province’s Hoang Hoa district.
The temple is located in Vang mountain of Son Trang mountain range, beside Chua mountain
According historical records, Nguyễn Huệ and his army have taken a rest and worshipped Mother Goddess at the temple on the way to fight Qing invader in the North, and received revelation regarding the fighting from the Goddess
Later the revelation came true, and when becoming a king of Dai Viet country, Nguyễn Huệ now known as Quang Trung Emperor honored Liễu Hạnh Mother Goddess with the title “Hoa dieu che thang Dai Vuong – De nhat Thanh Mau”
Phu Vang temple has become the worshipping place of Liễu Hạnh Mother Goddess for not only locals but visitors from neighboring regions
The temple was renovated and completed in 2013 on an area of 11,000 square meters, with two three-entrance gates featuring the ancient architecture
The most sacred place of the temple has the Mother Goddess gilded statue weighing over one ton, and two servant statues of Quynh Que and Quynh Hoa
In the front hall of the temple there’s an altar worshipping Ngọc Hoàng - Nam Tào - Bắc Đẩu and other worshipping deities.
