So Kien church in Ha Nam province

So Kien or Ke So Church is located in the town of So Kien in Ha Nam province. The church used to serve as the cathedral of West Đàng Ngoài diocese until the diocese Cathedral was moved to Hanoi in 1933.

The church was started in 1877 and completed in 1882 by Bishop Puginier Phước. It was built according to the Gothique architectural design. Four columns divide the church into five rooms, with 67m long, 31m wide, 23m high. The church can accommodate from four to five thousand people. On the wall are windows decorated with colored glass paintings. The sanctuary area and the altar were made of wood, with delicate carvings, lacquer trimmed with gold in Vietnamese traditional style. The entire platform is covered by ironwood.
