Many historical relics in Hanoi old quarter is encroached by sidewalk shops causing loss of urban beauty and sparking public outcry.
As reported by the department of the culture, sports and tourism in Hanoi, the city currently has over 160 historical relics recognized as national and municipal relics which are being encroached. This situation has happened for a long time but has not been fully resolved.
