Q: What are behaviors strictly prohibited under the Law on Belief and Religion?

A: According to the Article 4 of the Law on Belief and Religion, these following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

- To discriminate against someone because of their religion or belief;

- To coerce, lure or abstract someone to follow or not follow a religion or belief;

- To hurt someone’s religion and belie;

To carry out religious activities that:

- Infringe upon national defense, security and sovereignty, social order and safety or environment,

- Undermine social ethics; cause harm to the body, health, asset, honor or dignity of other people,

- Hinder the exercise of civic rights and obligations,

- Sow national division, religious division, or wedge between religious and non-religious people as well as between followers of different religion or belief,

- Take advantage of religious and belief activities for own profits.
