The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Council held on June 1 a conference for reviewing the UN Day of Vesak 2019 hosted in Ha Nam province’s Tam Chuc Buddhist Cultural Center.
The conference was chaired by President of the VBS’s Executive Council Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn, Standing Vice Presidents Most Venerable Thích Thiện Pháp and Thích Thanh Nhiễu.
Attending at the event included dignitaries in charge of assisting committee and sub-committees for the UN Day of Vesak 2019, representatives of the government ministries and agencies, and Ha Nam provincial authorities.
During the event, General Secretary of the VBS’s Executive Council Venerable Thích Đức Thiện briefed results of the UN Day of Vesak 2019 and affirmed that the success of UN Day of Vesak contributed to promote the solidarity of Vietnamese Buddhists.

On behalf of the VBS, Venerable Thiện thanked Vietnamese government and Ha Nam provincial authorities for their support and assistance during the preparation and organization the UN Day of Vesak 2019. He also took the chance to thank sponsors and volunteers for their practical contributions to the success of the event.

On this occasion, the VBS presented certificates of recommendation to individuals and groups who made outstanding contributions to the UN Day of Vesak 2019.
The UN Day of Vesak 2019 reached the biggest number of delegates in 16 organized sessions with 1,650 international delegates from 112 countries and territories over the world. In addition, more than 500,000 domestic delegates attended in activities during the event at the Tam Chuc Buddhist Cultural Center in Ha Nam province from May 12-14.
