Okphansa festival celebrated in Laos

Laos’ Okphansa festival this year was held on 27 October.

Before Okphansa festival, Buddhists prepare offering stalls, including cake and candy, incense, flower, candle, light, sticky rice and fruits… to offer Buddha in the next day.

In addition, the festival also organized other celebrations such as lights releasing on the Mekong River in the evening and the boat racing held on Oct. 28.

Okphansa festival held at the end of Buddhist lent festival-known as Khao Phansa festival, one of the biggest festivals of Laos, annually takes place on the full moon of the November of the Laos’ calendar.
