Laos celebrates That Luang festival 2014

On October 31st, 2014, thousands of Lao people took part in That Luang festival 2014 held in accordance with traditional customs of Laos. That Luang festival is one of the biggest Buddhist celebration in Laos.

Tens of thousand of people participated in such religious rituals as a sutra chanting ceremony and a candle procession around the That Luang stupa which was built 448 years ago.

Guests attending the festival included Lao’s Prime Minister Thongsinh Thammavong, representatives from the Party Committees and State authorities and international delegates.

Additionally, a trade fair has been held in parallel with the festival (from October 31st to November 6th) to serve as a platform for local businesses to advertise their products and expand partnership.
