Jubilant Water festival in Thailand

On April 13 2014, thousands of local people and tourists attended the Water Festival or Songkran festival or the Thai traditional New Year Festival

The Songkran festival is the Thai traditional New Year festival and takes place from 13 to 15 April this year. In the Thai language, it called “ lang-ho-sang-han” or “New Year according to Thai calendar”

On these days, people bring flowers and offerings to the pagoda, listen to Buddhist dharma in early morning, perform the Buddha bathing ritual, pitch colorful flags in the sand stupa and throwing of water to celebrate the New Year.
