The Korean Protestant group was established in 1994, used to hold its religious meetings inside Ha Noi Protestant Church and its received registration certification in March 2018. The Korean community in Hanoi currently has over 1,200 members who are Korean living and working in Vietnam.
At the reception meeting, Pastor Tae Won So praised Vietnam’s efforts and successes in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and informed that members of the Korea community in Hanoi have strictly implemented prevention measures against the epidemic as well as presented facemasks and hand washes to the prevention and control work.
He affirmed that the Law on Belief and Religion 2016 has created favorable conditions for religious practices of Korea Protestant community in Vietnam.
The Pastor also shared with the hosts about a book titled “Heresy in the World and Korea” written in Vietnamese language by Vice Chairman of the Republic of Korea -Vietnam Friendship Association Lee Sang Mo who is a member of the Korea group in Hanoi and sought advice from the GCRA for publishing this book in Vietnam.
Speaking with the guests, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng informed that the Law on Belief and Religion aims to institutionalize the Party’s viewpoints and concretize the Constitution’s provisions on belief and religious practices and the Vietnam Government always facilities faith practices by foreign.
The Chairman spoke highly of social charities by the Korean Protestant community and thanked Pastor Tae Won Soo for pioneering in opening Korean international school in Hanoi, contributing to promoting Vietnam-Korea friendship.
Regarding to the publication of the book "Heresy in the World and Korea", Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng assigned the Protestant Affairs Department and the Religious Publishing House to study and guide the publication of the book.
