Government religious committee leader receives religious delegation from Dak Nong
Overview of the reception

Vice Chairwoman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trần Thị Minh Nga hosted on November 7 a warm reception for a visiting delegation of religions from Dak Nong province.

The religious delegation comprised of 12 religious dignitaries of three large religions of Buddhism, Catholicism, Protestantism in Dak Nong led by Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Lê Trung Trường Vũ.

Joining the reception included representatives of GCRA’s departments for Buddhist, Catholic, Protestant affairs and the Office.

At the event, Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Lê Trung Trường Vũ informed the socio-economic development and religious life in the province.

Dak Nong province currently has three large religions of Buddhism, Protestantism and Catholicism with 260,000 followers, 215 dignitaries, 891 deacons and 150 worshipping places.

In 2019, the provincial People’s Committee received and solved religious applications relating the establishment of dependent religious organizations, land use right certificates, and construction of religious facilities.

During the visiting reception, representatives of religious organizations in the province shared and exchanged with the hosts religious practices and practical issues relating religion in the province. They also expressed hope to receive the government religious committee’s further support for religious practices by local residents in the province.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairwoman Trần Thị Minh Nga affirmed that the Vietnam State always respect and ensure people’s right to freedom of belief and religion. She also spoke highly of practical contributions made by religious organizations for the socio-economic development in the locality.

The Vice Chairwoman expressed hope that dignitaries of religion in Dak Nong province would continue promoting unity amongst religious communities and boosting socio-economic development in the locality.
