During the visit, the GCRA delegation had a meeting with the leadership board of the church, and visited the church’s Provo Missionary Training Center, Humanitarian Center, Family History Library and Brigham Young University.

At the meeting with the LDS’s board of leadership, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng informed the hosts of the current policy and law of Vietnam aimed at respecting and safeguarding people’s right to freedom of belief and religion, as well as current religious practices in the country.
While appreciating the LDS church for its hospitalities extended to the GCRA delegation, the official of the Vietnam government religious committee also took the chance to thank the church for its humanitarian activities in Vietnam.

Speaking with the guests, President Russell M. Nelson and elders of the LDS church spoke highly of the Vietnam Government’s policy on religion and expressed hope for more cooperation opportunities for sending humanitarian support to Vietnam.
On occasion of the visit, the GCRA delegation visited and met with Governor of Utah Gary Herbert, and representatives of other religious organizations in the US State.
At the meeting with the governor of Utah, while sharing with the host the current religious life and policy of Vietnam, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng applauded cooperation agreements between the State of Utah and several localities in Vietnam.
