Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng hosted on January 28 a reception for Evans F. David, President of the Asia Area of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints (LDS Church) on occasion of New Year 2019 and Vietnam traditional New Year.

During the visiting reception, President Evans F. David thanked the GCRA for creating favorable conditions to religious affairs of the LDS Church’s representative committee in Vietnam over the past years, and expressed hope that the church would receive further support from the Vietnam government religious committee for the Vietnam LDS Church to be granted the operation registration.
While extending traditional Vietnam New Year greetings to the GCRA, the LDS President conveyed an invitation to visit the church’s headquarters located in Salt Lake City from the First Presidency of the LDS Church to the GCRA Chairman.
Speaking with the guests, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng affirmed that Vietnam Government always creates favorable conditions for religions as well as promotes religious resources for national development. The GCRA leader also hailed the LDS church’s contributions for community development in the country.
