Ministry requests stricter COVID-19 prevention in culture, sports and tourism sectors
Ministry requests stricter COVID-19 prevention in culture, sports and tourism sectors.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Document No 5050/BVHTTDL-VHCS on January 5, asking the People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to strictly implement COVID-19 preventive measures in culture, sport, and tourism activities.

The document stressed that COVID-19 prevention in these fields must be strictly conducted following the documents and instructions previously promulgated by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Travel businesses; accommodation establishments; tourism service providers; cultural, physical training, and sports facilities; museums; management boards of tourist sites; and organisation committees of festivals are demanded to observe COVID-19 prevention regulations and measures in line with guidance documents issued by the two ministries.

The ministry also requested plans to ensure the safety and security of tourists and participants in cultural and sports activities as well as visitors to museums, cultural heritage sites and festival goers.

COVID-19 prevention instructions must be also promoted to the public via posters, leaflets and loudspeakers at tourism sites, museums, cultural and historical relic sites, cultural and sports facilities, and festival venues.

The organisation of festivals will be suspended or adjusted in terms of scale and time so that disease prevention regulations are fully implemented.

People are asked to wear a face mask when participating in tourism, cultural, and sports activities in public places or while visiting museums, historical relics, tourist sites, and festivals.

The ministry also requested the strengthening of the inspection and examination of the implementation of COVID-19 pandemic prevention measures and the strict handling of any violations.

As the lunar New Year festival draws near and the travel demands of passengers will increase on the occasion, airlines have recommended all passengers follow safety protocols in order to ensure the highest level of public safety.

According to the Civil Aviation Administration (CAA)’s requirement, all passengers are required to fill in health declaration before their flights at http://tokhaiyte.vn or “Vietnam Health Declaration” Mobile App.

All passengers must wear face masks at the airport and throughout the flight. Passengers must bring their own face masks. It is highly recommended to prepare a back-up one.

To ensure safe distancing and avoiding long lines, passengers are encouraged to check-in online on the airlines’ official websites or Mobile App between 24 hours to 60 minutes, at the latest, prior to departure or check in by calling 1900 6265 between 12 hours to 2 hours prior to departures for assistance. The telephone check-in service is exclusively applied to flights departing from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City

In addition, Vietnam Airlines’ Kiosk Check-in System is available at the airports of Noi Bai (Hanoi), Da Nang (Da Nang city), Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa province), Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh city).
