The Archdiocese sent a dispatch to all parishes and asked them to strictly implement prevention measures against the epidemic. In case of parishioners having symptoms of COVID-19 or related to the Covid-19 infection cases, they are asked to stay in isolation for full two weeks and absolutely not enter churches.
According to Priest Peter Kiều Công Tùng, Chief of the Archdiocese’s Office, all liturgical celebrations will be broadcasted online on the archdiocese’s website, and parishioners could watch and follow these masses on this website.
Earlier, Phan Thiet diocese has also halted all masses and religious services including tenet classes and gatherings. Members of the diocese can attend masses online daily.
In particular, masses held in parishes in Binh Thuan province need to limit scales of large gatherings at the parishes’ churches and parishioners need to wear facemasks and wash their hands.
Hanoi Archdiocese also issued on March 9 a similar dispatch asking for suspension of tenet classes and children’s activities due to the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic in Hanoi and other provinces.
