VBS Chapter in Bac Ninh reviews six-month activities

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee in Bac Ninh province reviewed its performance in the first six months of 2019 at a meeting held on August 5 at Dai Thanh pagoda located in the province’s Bac Ninh city. 

The event was presided over by Senior Venerable Member of the VBS Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in the province Thích Thanh Phụng and attended by 45 members of the provincial VBS Executive Committee.

Distinguished guests at the meeting included Acting Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Chu Quang Hảo and local authorities’ representatives.

As reported, in the first six months of 2019, the VBS’s Chapter in Bac Ninh province recorded many good results in religious affairs, including the successful organization of the Buddha’s Birthday Festival 2019-B.E. 2563 and the promotion of eight monks and nuns as heads of Buddhist pagodas.

The provincial VBS’s Chapter also presented supports and charitable houses valued at VND 2.5 billion to the poor in the locality.
