The construction of a temple dedicated to Hung Kings was commenced in Binh Thuy district, Can Tho city on the morning of June 18 in the presence of National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân.

The project covers an area of approximately 4ha and over VND129.5 billion (US$5.56 million) funded by Van Phu Invest JSC.

The temple is in shape of a bronze drum of the Hung Kings era, surrounded by a round-shaped lake and is sculpted with patterns of the Hung Kings period.

Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of Can Tho city People’s Committee Đào Anh Dũng said that the building of the temple aims to express the deep gratitude to the predecessors who set up and protected the country.

The temple also meets the aspirations of local people in Can Tho and in the Mekong Delta provinces in practicing the worship of Hung Kings, Dũng noted.

The project main items include a main temple, a management house, a service house, a stele house, a garden, a lake, and others.

The temple is scheduled to be completed in late 2020.
