On February 22, 2014, the Pilgrimage Center of St. Philip Phan Văn Minh - Đình Khao held a ceremony to inaugurate its new church at Vinh Long locality, Vinh Long diocese of Thanh Duc commune, Long Ho District, Vinh Long Province.

Being approved by the Prime Minister, the 2014 United Nations Day of Vesak wil be held in Bai Dinh, Ninh Binh province from May 7-11 2014, with the theme "Contribution of Buddhism towards Achieving the United Nations Millennium Development Goals" 

On February 26, 2014, a delegation from Evangelical Church of Vietnam (Northern) led by Pastor Nguyễn Hữu Mạc had a working visit to the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA). On behalf of the Committee, leaders and officials of Department of  Protestant Affairs led by Mrs. Hoàng Thị Thảo, Director of the Department received the delegation.

With the approval by local authorities on building the church, on February 23 2014 Phong Coc parish, Tay Ninh locality, Phu Cuong diocese (Binh Phong and Binh Hoa Hamlet, Tay Ninh city, Tay Ninh province) held a ceremony to inaugurate its a new church. The ceremony was chaired by Bishop Nguyễn Tấn Tước, of Phu Cuong diocese and joint by priests and followers from the parishes.

On February 20, 2014, the Phuoc Hau Church (Evangelical Church of Vietnam (Southern)) held a ceremony to inaugurate a new church for worshipping and preaching the gospel. Participants at the ceremony were representatives from local authorities of Binh Dinh province, Quy Nhon city; Pastor Phan Vĩnh Cự, Chairman of Evangelical Church of Vietnam (Southern), pastors and Protestants in and outside of province.

The Central Committee of the Vietnamese Buddhist Association in the Czech Republic organized a ceremony in Prague to celebrate the Festival of January 15^th (lunar calendar). More than 600 overseas Vietnamese gathered here to remember their ancestors and origin, and pray for a new year of peace, happiness and prosperity.

On February 19, 2014, Hoa Phat chapter of Bao Loc parish (in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong held a ceremony to inaugurate its new church with the title “The Assumption of Mary”. Attending the ceremony were Bishop Antoine Vũ Huy Chương of Da Lat Diocese, Archbishop Pierre Nguyễn Văn Nhơn of Hanoi archdiocese as well as dignitaries, sub-dignitaries and believers.

On Feb 7^th and 8^th 2014 (the 8^th and 9^th days of the first lunar month), at Minh Duc oratory (the Representative Board’s Office), 230 Le Thi Hong Gam, Ward No. 6, My Tho city, the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang, Prof. Ngọc Hưng Thanh (Nguyễn Tấn Hưng) - Head of the Representative Board of the Cao Dai Ante-Creation Church chaired a conference to summarize the Church’s religious practice in the first quarter of 2014. 

On February 19, 2014, at the headquarters of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Xuân, Vice Chairman of the Committee, had a working session with Mr. Juan Jose Amalgro, a representative from the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Vietnam.

On February 19, 2014 at the headquarters of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, Mr. Dương Văn Khá, Chief of the Office of the Committee, had a working session with a delegation from the Embassy of United States in Hanoi led by Mrs. Jenifer Neidhart, Political Officer of the Embassy.

On February 12, 2014, at the headquarters of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA), Mr. Bùi Thanh Hà, Vice Chairman of the Committee, received a delegation from the Vietnam Baptist Church (Southern) led by Pastor Nguyễn Võ Khánh Giám its first Vice President. Attending the reception were also leaders and officials from the Committee’s Department of Protestant Affairs.

On Feb 9, 2014, Mr. Dương Ngọc Tấn - Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs attended the opening ceremony of the 2014 Yen Tu Spring Festival at the Yen Tu relic site in Thuong Yen Cong commune, Uong Bi city, the northeastern province of Quang Ninh. He was accompanied by Mr. Lê Minh Khánh, Deputy Director of the Committee’s Department of Buddhist Affairs and other officials. The delegation also studied Buddhist activities at the site.

Hundreds of Britons are converting to Islam every month. Many youngsters in prison are becoming attracted to Islam by the prospect of getting better food and superior treatment.

Quang Nam province’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has recently proposed recognizing the Dong Duong Buddhist Monastery in the province’s Thang Binh district, as a special national relic for better preservation.

Thousand of people living in Lim village and from different regions across the country have flocked to Tien Du district in northern Bac Ninh province to attend the Lim festival which includes activities dedicated to Quan Ho (love duet singing), part of the world’s intangible cultural heritage.
