Quan The Am Festival cancelled over coronavirus worries

The annual Quan The Am (Avalokitecvara) Festival, which attracts thousands of attendees over its three days, has been cancelled due to concerns about the spread of the novel coronavirus, currently known as Covid-19.

This year’s event was scheduled to take place at Ngu Hanh Son District's Quan The Am (Avalokitecvara) Pagoda in the Marble Mountains Tourist Area from 10 - 12 March (the 17th - 19th days of the 2nd lunar month).

It is one of the most eagerly anticipated spiritual cultural events for Buddhists and non- Buddhists across from Da Nang and elsewhere in the country.

Buddhist pagoda in Tien Giang provides preventive measures against Covid-19

Du Khanh pagoda located in Tien Giang province’s Go Cong district in collaboration with the Youth Union in the district organized on March 1 a program on preventive measures against Covid-19 threats.

The program handed over 500 medical face masks, 500 antibacterial soap bars and leaflets giving necessary information on the coronavirus to local people in rural areas of the district.

On the occasion, Du Khanh pagoda also offered 100 antibacterial soap bars to locals in the district’s ward 3, and collaborated with the district youth union in communicating preventive measures against Covid-19 amongst people in the locality.
