As expected, the project will cover a construction area of 1.85 hectares with the total investment of 100 VND billion.
As reported, the project includes the reconstruction of part of the original Thanh Chiem palace, and the constructions of an exhibit house and a museum for displaying artifacts related to Vietnamese alphabet and statues of Lord Nguyễn, oversea priests and scholars who laid the foundation for the birth of the Vietnamese national language.
The project has finished its first phase (land-clearing and supporting facilities) and is expected to be fully completed in 2022.
According to Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee in the district Nguyễn Xuân Hà, Thanh Chiem relic site will be rebuilt into a Thanh Chiem Palace Park. The park will serve as a place featuring the history of Vietnamese letters when Jesuit missionaries came to study and create Vietnamese alphabet in its early days, as well as a research centre for preserving and promoting national letters.
