Long An province currently has over 200 festivals, including those related to the worship of the village tutelage, the Mother Goddess worship, religions and other folk beliefs.
Most of these festivals take place annually in places of worships, such as shrines, temples, communal houses and religious worshipping establishments.
In the implementation of the Party’s Resolution 41-CT/TW dated February 5, 2015 on the strengthening of the management and organizations of festivals, the department of culture, sport and tourism of Long An has, in collaboration with concerning provincial authorities and agencies, held 60 training worshops guiding the implementation of the Party’s resolution and related state regulations for district-level officials and commune-level cadres tasked with the management and organization of festivals in the province.
Thanks to implementing efforts, festivals in the province have been held safely and in economical and civilized manners, better meeting cultural and spiritual needs of local people and visitors.
The administration and organization of festivals in localities in Long An have practically contributed to preserve fine customs and promote positive cultural values in the country.
