The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a guiding document supporting the restoration of festivals of ethnic minority groups under the Cultural Development Target Program in 2020.

Specifically, in 2020, the ministry will support the restoration and preservation of traditional festivals of Lao ethnic group in the northwestern mountainous province of Dien Bien; La Chi ethnic group in Quang Binh district and Nung in Hoang Su Phi district, the northeastern mountainous province of Ha Giang; Thai in the northeastern mountainous province of Yen Bai; Si La in the northwestern mountainous province of Lai Chau; Gia Rai in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum and the southern Binh Phuoc provincial traditional festival.

It also asked relevant provincial Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism to survey, select and compose scientific documents on festivals for generalization.

Provinces need to focus on restoring traditional festivals rich in identity to promote good cultural values, incorporating new and advanced cultural elements, contributing to promoting the movement of uniting the people to build cultural life in ethnic-inbabited areas./.
