Meo Vac district is currently home to 16 ethnic groups and each ethnic group has a its own cultural characteristics. Lo Lo people, though with a small number residing mostly in Xin Cai commune and Meo Vac ward, have unique and long-held cultural traditions. While facing economic difficulties, Lo Lo ethnics have well preserved ancestral customs, including the rain praying ritual and rites for celebrating the new harvest of corn and new house. In addition, Lo Lo people in Meo Vac still wear beautiful dresses of a long-held custom with skilful and artistic decorations on traditional weaving cloths.
