Particularly, four communal houses of Long Khanh (Long Khanh A commune, Hong Ngu district), Tan Phu Trung (Tan Phu Trung commune, Chau Thanh district), Phu Huu (Cai Tau Ha town, Chau Thanh district) and Dinh Yen (Dinh Yen commune, Lap Vo district) have been classified as national relics.
Director Nguyễn Ngọc Thương said that the provincial authorities have promoted values of communal houses with typical historical, architectural and archaeological characteristics and will make these commune houses as tourist places as well.
So far, the province has implemented a pilot project on four typical commune houses of Vinh Phuoc (Sa Dec city), Dinh Yen (Lap Vo district), Vinh Thoi (Lai Vung district) and Nga ba Thong Binh (Tan Hong district).
In the project implementation, due attention will be paid to the restoration of the degraded construction items in these communal houses and revise of traditional rituals, ancient artifacts, letters (Chinese and Nom scripts) and folk activities.
The province will also conduct survey and collection of artifacts for identifying historical values of the communal houses, creating attraction for locals and visitors.
