The Quan The Am (Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva) Festival took place at the Ngu Hanh Son (Five Element Mountains) relic sites in the district of the same name in the central city of Da Nang, from March 14-16.

The annual festival, which is held from the 17th to the 19th day of the second lunar month, has been listed among 15 fifteen major festivals Vietnam.

The event aims to honour Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, as well as pray for peace and prosperity for all people.

During the festival, local people and visitors had the chance to join religious ceremonies and activities, including a ceremony in celebration of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s birthday, the procession of Princess Huyen Tran, preaching activities and flower release.

In addition, the event features a wide variety of cultural and sports activities, such as fine arts and photo exhibitions, calligraphy performances, boat races, and performances of traditional martial of arts.

The Quan The Am Festival contributes to not only preserving the traditional culture of Da Nang City, but also to promoting the beauty of the Ngu Hanh Son relic site.
