Venerable Thích Vạn Bình, Head of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Charity Board in Ben Tre province’s Giong Trom district cum Abbot of Phuoc Long pagoda located in the district’s Phong Nam commune paid on September 21 charity visits to disadvantaged children in the locality, on occasion of mid-Autumn festival.
During the visits, Venerable Thích Vạn Bình handed over 427 sets of mid-Autumn gifts to the Youth Union and Medical Center in the district for presenting to 400 children with difficult circumstances, 11 leprosy childs and 16 children living with parents who are carrying HIV/AIDS.
The program was valued at 23.450.000 VND in total, which has been contributed by donors in the country and overseas.
These gift sets brought joyful celebrations of the mid-autumn festival and encourage disadvantaged children to overcome difficulties in their life.
