Besides praying masses held for aborted fetuses, the Catholic priest has also organized monthly prayers for babies to be born.
In addition to setting up a cemetery for unborn babies, Mai Tien Temporary Shelter has been founded for taking care of lonely pregnant women so they can afford to keep their babies. The temporary shelter has provided accommodations and healthcare for about 1,000 pregnant women who had no better places for taking care of their pregnancy.

Priest Joseph Nguyễn Văn Tịch also established and led the Save Life Board under the Xuan Loc Diocese.
With Mai Tien Temporary Shelter and as Head of the save life board, the Catholic priest in Dong Nai has approached pregnant women at hostpitals and health clinics who had intended to perform abortion and persuaded them to keep their pregnancy. Agreed pregnant women were brought the temporary shelter and received accommodations and proper care for pregnancy, and to ensure the safe and health birth, doctors also made regular visits to the pregnant women in the temporary center. When these women gave birth, they could leave their babies in Mai Tien Shelter for work or studies until they can afford to take care of themselves and their babies.
The work of Priest Joseph Nguyễn Văn Tịch in saving babies in the last ten years has inspired many parishioners and locals, encouraging them to join together in praying for and properly burying unborn babies, and saving babies and taking care of them before and after birth.
