Catholics in Thanh Hoa make practical contributions for local socio-economic development

Thanh Hoa province currently has seven deaneries, 69 parishes, 350 Catholic communities and 179 worshipping establishments, with over 150,000 parishioners residing in 27 provincial districts and city.

For the past three years (2018-2020), Catholics in Thanh Hoa province have actively joint in social movements and programs launched by local authorities for socio-economic development in the locality.

In response the campaign motivating people to develop a new-style rural development in residential areas, local Catholics have voluntarily donated 139.6 ha of land and 82,000 working days, and contributed over 24 billion VND for building over 1,000 km of rural roads.

During the past three years, local Catholics and people in the province have actively joined in social charities. They have built and repaired over 3,800 charity houses, provided free health-check to the poor worth over 3.2 billion VND, donated 9,3 billion VND to poor pupils with high academy results, and raised a fund over 150 billion VND to flood victims, etc.
